Why We Blog

What is the purpose of blogging? and why do people do it? That is the question that I had before reading the article "Why We Blog". I had always assumed that the reason people blog was just to give an opinion on a certain subject. However, the article Why We Blog gave a much more detailed and thorough explanation, that has now widened my opinion of why blogs have became such a popular way of communication.

The reasons they gave us as motivations for blogs were to document life, to serve as a commentary, to serve as catharsis, as a muse and as a community forum. Meaning bloggers blog for many different reasons, but one of the most popular to serve as an outlet and a form of expression. I think it is incredible the diverse nature of blogs it allows you to give your opinion, connect with others and to share with the world. In the article Evan used his blog as a muse he wanted to write and prove to the world and himself that he had something effective to say.

Blogging has became a worldwide phenomenon, it is allowing for better conversations and a forum to communicate with the world. I believe that blogs are very important and the reasons that people are so interested is that it allows people to document their lives and express opinions not only on government issues but even whether or not they liked a product. Blogging is a growing trend that gives even the most mediocre user a voice to speak out on anything that is important to them.
